Hensel Rene F. Fabrolina (Batch 2007) was unanimously chosen from among five applicants by the BHSAA Board of Directors to be the first beneficiary of the BHSAA Scholarship Grant. He is taking a Bachelor of Science in Industrial Technology (BSIT) major in Drafting at the Eulogio Amang Rodriguez Institute of Science and Technology (EARIST).

Hensel, the eldest in a brood of six, was not able to pursue college studies due to financial constraints. His father is a construction worker and his mother is a plain housewife. He instead worked as vegetable vendor to augment the income of their family but in the process was able to save some which could sustain him for a semester stay in college. Prior to receiving the grant, he intended to quit in the second semester then work again and save so that he can enroll again.

Hensel is from Brgy. Sibay.

The selection was done during the board meeting on May 24, 2009. The grant was finally approved unanimously by the members of the board through text messages after a further background check and interview by Academic Affairs Committee Co-Chair Nic Ferranco during the same day. The grant was formally awarded to Hensel by BHSAA President Lyndon Fadri on May 26, 2009.

The Scholarship Fund was put up late last year with a seed money of P 17,500.00 courtesy of the members of the board.
